Here are Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions...

  • What operating system is on my computer? -- Sometimes you might need to know what operating system your computer is running. Yes, you might know that it's Windows, but which one? Here's an easy way to find out. Right click on My Computer and select Properties, click the General tab and then under System it should tell you the operating system. This can help technical support to know how to install or fix problems easily.

  • Is there anything I can do before calling Technical Support? -- Of course there is, save all your work in it's current state and restart the computer. Rebooting the machine may solve the problem. If it doesn't, then it's time to call us.

  • How do I protect my computer from viruses? -- The best way to protect your computer is to install anti-virus software and keep it up to date. AVG Anti-virus offers a free anti-virus program, AVG 6.0, but lately started to charge for it's programs. I use and recommend Norton Anti-virus and Norton Internet Security if you want a paid program. The only thing users forget about is to UPDATE THEIR ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAM!!! If you forget to do this, the program won't do any good. So keep it up to date!

  • Can I find out what is wrong with my computer? -- Yes, but you might not know how to fix the problem. Check out PC Pit Stop. It has several free utilities to help diagnose what is wrong with your system.

  • What is the cheapest way to get my computer to speed up? -- While there is no way to "speed up" your computer without the chance of causing harm to the system, you can add more memory to the computer. The addition of Random Access Memory, RAM, can help speed up your computer. Think of adding more RAM is similar to adding a new room to your house. With the addition, you can store more stuff and have more items in the house. RAM adds more space that the programs can operate in. If your interested in purchasing more RAM you can look at Crucial.com or ask us about purchasing you more RAM.
